This is my story........

My photo
Wrapped in Love Quilts are memory quilts for all occasions with Hospice patients having priority. Wrapped in Love Quilts was created after I learned a friend of mine had terminal cancer. I knew how much she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. I didn't know what to say to her when I received the news of her cancer so I came up with a way for her to wrap the love of her family around her. I created a photo quilt of all her loved ones along with her grandchildren's handprints on the back. She called it her faithful companion. Sue Liston passed away on October 31, 2007. During the year 2008 I created many quilts for hospice patients and persons that needed a little extra love wrapped around them. As you view the quilts and read the stories about them, starting with Sue's(2008-#1), you will see what a rewarding journey I have been on. The quilts are a beautiful way to express love when words seem inadequate. Needless to say, I feel very blessed to be able to help others. #14 Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice

On May 16th Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice will be holding an auction. Good Shepherd is the organization that showed me the rewards of making quilts for hospice patients. This quilt was created with photographs from around Clay and Cherokee County, North Carolina. I created the quilt but the following are the ones that made it possible: the photos were furnished by Mike Gora, Judy Grove, Bill Grove, Bill Killien, John Nealy, Jessy Garrett, the Clay County Chamber of Commerce and the Valleytown Cultural Arts and Historical Society. The fabric was donated by Karen Hopple, owner of Bless My Stitches quilt shop in Murphy, NC, and the machine quilting was done and donated by Russ Adams of Back Porch Quilters of Murphy, NC. My husband Tim made the quilt holder/shelf.
