This is my story........

My photo
Wrapped in Love Quilts are memory quilts for all occasions with Hospice patients having priority. Wrapped in Love Quilts was created after I learned a friend of mine had terminal cancer. I knew how much she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. I didn't know what to say to her when I received the news of her cancer so I came up with a way for her to wrap the love of her family around her. I created a photo quilt of all her loved ones along with her grandchildren's handprints on the back. She called it her faithful companion. Sue Liston passed away on October 31, 2007. During the year 2008 I created many quilts for hospice patients and persons that needed a little extra love wrapped around them. As you view the quilts and read the stories about them, starting with Sue's(2008-#1), you will see what a rewarding journey I have been on. The quilts are a beautiful way to express love when words seem inadequate. Needless to say, I feel very blessed to be able to help others. #24 Teresa's Daddy

My NC neighbor Teresa lost her father on Friday, July 24th. We had been planning on making a quilt together for him but did not get it made. She emailed me the pictures and this weekend I got it made in time for her to leave this morning for Kansas to be with her mother. Her father was a man that could grow flowers or citrus anywhere he set him mind to do it. The greenhouse collages are from Belize, Alaska, Kansas and other places. Some pictures are very old - a couple are him in Guam, WWII. The center picture is her parents 50th wedding anniversary. They celebrated their 54th anniversary on the 17th of July this year.
