This is my story........

My photo
Wrapped in Love Quilts are memory quilts for all occasions with Hospice patients having priority. Wrapped in Love Quilts was created after I learned a friend of mine had terminal cancer. I knew how much she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. I didn't know what to say to her when I received the news of her cancer so I came up with a way for her to wrap the love of her family around her. I created a photo quilt of all her loved ones along with her grandchildren's handprints on the back. She called it her faithful companion. Sue Liston passed away on October 31, 2007. During the year 2008 I created many quilts for hospice patients and persons that needed a little extra love wrapped around them. As you view the quilts and read the stories about them, starting with Sue's(2008-#1), you will see what a rewarding journey I have been on. The quilts are a beautiful way to express love when words seem inadequate. Needless to say, I feel very blessed to be able to help others. #13 Iris Higdon

Iris was a patient with Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice in NC. One of her favorite colors was purple. This quilt is in her memory for her husband of 58 years! Their daughter hopes this quilt will help her father while he adjusts.

Note: The photo on the label was taken by Barbara Moss.

Comment from daughter: Her father loved the quilt. He said it did not make him sad, he loved it. The following day he made a wooden hanger for it. His daughter said he is a wonderful woodworker.
Note from daughter Nov.5, 2011: I am so thankful that you made hte quilt in memory of my Mother for My Father, Tommy, to enjoy...When I took it to him in August....as I told you he displayed it on the wall and showed it to everyone! He said that it helped him so much and it did note make him sad.
Now I am sad to say, my father passed away October 27th. Suddenly with a heart attack....or I say...broken heart. He loved her so much.
