This is my story........

My photo
Wrapped in Love Quilts are memory quilts for all occasions with Hospice patients having priority. Wrapped in Love Quilts was created after I learned a friend of mine had terminal cancer. I knew how much she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. I didn't know what to say to her when I received the news of her cancer so I came up with a way for her to wrap the love of her family around her. I created a photo quilt of all her loved ones along with her grandchildren's handprints on the back. She called it her faithful companion. Sue Liston passed away on October 31, 2007. During the year 2008 I created many quilts for hospice patients and persons that needed a little extra love wrapped around them. As you view the quilts and read the stories about them, starting with Sue's(2008-#1), you will see what a rewarding journey I have been on. The quilts are a beautiful way to express love when words seem inadequate. Needless to say, I feel very blessed to be able to help others. #12 Abby Joyce

Abby is Marlo's big sister. Marlo's quilt is #11. When Abby's daddy first started suffering from complications from surgery, a quilt was made for her so she could keep her daddy close to her while he was in the hospital. It is #31 (2009) . Her Grandma (Meme) says she takes it everywhere. She is such a sweet girl. She received this quilt from her Meme at the baby shower for her new sister Marlo.

#11 Marlo Joyce

Marlo is due to be born the end of this month (June 2010). Her Grandma (Meme) wanted to have a special gift made for her. Marlo's daddy suffered from complications from surgery last fall and unfortunately passed away March 17, 2010. The quilt is all pictures of her daddy. Meme gave the quilt to her daughter at Julie's baby shower. The birth of Marlo at the end of this month will be joyous but also extremely emotional. Please keep the family in your prayers.

Marlo was born beautiful and healthy on June 24, 2010.

#10 Isaac

Isaac will be graduating in June. Words just do not describe how proud his Grandmother is of him. She knew a couple years ago that she wanted a quilt to give her daughter with pictures of him from pre-K through graduation. Grandma picked out fabric to show off his love of nature. Congratulations, Isaac, you have made your family very proud!!

#9 Ronnie Aiken

Ronnie received this quilt from his 12 year old step-daughter that loves him dearly. He is under care from Good Shephard Hospice. His wife, Cheryl, knew he would love one of these quilts because she and the 3 daughters are very special to him. They each wrote messages to him. I put their messages with their pictures on the quilt. The youngest girl is just adorable. She told me I could post her sweet message. I share it because I think it is a good message for us all to think about.

Dear Papa Bear,

I want to tell you how much I love you. You are pretty much the best step dad anyone could have. You are literally always there for me. As much as I back talked you, you never raised your voice at me. I LOVE getting to ride horses and wrestling with you, I could name a whole lot more. I know you were in the Vietnam War and God was with you that whole time just as you are with me. When I found out I was getting a step dad I was soooooo happy it was you. You're the best!!! Love you a whole bunch!!
