This is my story........

My photo
Wrapped in Love Quilts are memory quilts for all occasions with Hospice patients having priority. Wrapped in Love Quilts was created after I learned a friend of mine had terminal cancer. I knew how much she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. I didn't know what to say to her when I received the news of her cancer so I came up with a way for her to wrap the love of her family around her. I created a photo quilt of all her loved ones along with her grandchildren's handprints on the back. She called it her faithful companion. Sue Liston passed away on October 31, 2007. During the year 2008 I created many quilts for hospice patients and persons that needed a little extra love wrapped around them. As you view the quilts and read the stories about them, starting with Sue's(2008-#1), you will see what a rewarding journey I have been on. The quilts are a beautiful way to express love when words seem inadequate. Needless to say, I feel very blessed to be able to help others. #17 Jerry Kasper

Jerry passed away January 31, 2010 after a tough fight with cancer. A quilt was made for Jerry and his wife (Quilt #1 of 2010). When I met his parents at the remarkable funeral for Jerry, I knew I had to make a "firefighter" quilt for them. Jerry was a young man when he left his small town in Wisconsin to be a firefighter in Orlando, FL. Jerry was only 46 when he passed away.

Some of Jerry's firefighter friends will be visiting his parents next month and will present the quilt to them. The City of Orlando Fire Department will always be part of their family. Click on quilt for larger view.
