This is my story........

My photo
Wrapped in Love Quilts are memory quilts for all occasions with Hospice patients having priority. Wrapped in Love Quilts was created after I learned a friend of mine had terminal cancer. I knew how much she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. I didn't know what to say to her when I received the news of her cancer so I came up with a way for her to wrap the love of her family around her. I created a photo quilt of all her loved ones along with her grandchildren's handprints on the back. She called it her faithful companion. Sue Liston passed away on October 31, 2007. During the year 2008 I created many quilts for hospice patients and persons that needed a little extra love wrapped around them. As you view the quilts and read the stories about them, starting with Sue's(2008-#1), you will see what a rewarding journey I have been on. The quilts are a beautiful way to express love when words seem inadequate. Needless to say, I feel very blessed to be able to help others. #5 Adam Hoke

Adam unexpectedly passed away this year. His parents are in their 80's and their loving family has been very worried about them. Their daughter, Ronni, felt a quilt with pictures of Adam throughout his life might help them.

Thank you for your order Ronni. Orders like this help with supplies for hospice quilts.

3/6/10 Ronnie said her parents love their quilt. It should help her Mom while she undergoes tests for some heart problems.

#4 Muriel Tramontano

Rosemary lost her mother Muriel last fall about the same time I lost my mother so it was easy for me to understand her pain when she called to request a quilt. Her mother was under hospice care with Good Shepherd Home Health & Hospice in Hayesville, NC. While Good Shepherd's chaplin was talking with Rosemary one day, he suggested a quilt to help her through the grieving process.
Muriel loved all kinds of music. Ave Maria was one of her favorite songs.

Rosemary loves her quilt. She is going to have her husband hang it on their living room wall. She has asked for another quilt for her sister. Orders are always appreciated; they enable me to continue making quilts for hospice patients and/or their families.
3/5/10 Rosemary wrote: I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the work you put into my quilt. It will be the most treasued family heirloom we have.

#3 Juanita Clark

This quilt was created for Juanita while she was a patient with Good Shepherd Home Health & Hospice in NC. Her sweet husband selected the pictures and gave ideas for the colors. The pictures show the love shared with her family and her love for her dogs. Unfortunately the night the quilt was being completed Juanita passed away. Hopefully the quilt will bring comfort to the family in the rough days ahead.

#1 Jerry Kasper

Jerry was a firefighter with the City of Orlando for over 20 years. He passed away at the age of 46 last night, January 31, 2010. On October 11, 2009 he was diagnosed with Thymic Carsinoma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. At the time the doctors thought he would have 3-5 years but after the cancer spread to his liver during chemo, his time was shortened. He lived the last few months of his life surrounded with the love of his family and friends. This quilt was made in his favorite color with a simple design to show off his family.

Jerry passed peacefully on the evening of January 31, 2010 with his family at his side. The family loved their quilt.

#2 Miracle Monday

Miracle Monday is a group founded by Debbie Bristol Puckett one year ago. Miracle Monday is "A Day of Hope for a Cure of Cancer." The members featured on the quilt are cancer survivors that meet the 1st Monday of every month to support each other. This quilt will be used as a banner when they walk in the Relay for Life.
