This is my story........

My photo
Wrapped in Love Quilts are memory quilts for all occasions with Hospice patients having priority. Wrapped in Love Quilts was created after I learned a friend of mine had terminal cancer. I knew how much she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. I didn't know what to say to her when I received the news of her cancer so I came up with a way for her to wrap the love of her family around her. I created a photo quilt of all her loved ones along with her grandchildren's handprints on the back. She called it her faithful companion. Sue Liston passed away on October 31, 2007. During the year 2008 I created many quilts for hospice patients and persons that needed a little extra love wrapped around them. As you view the quilts and read the stories about them, starting with Sue's(2008-#1), you will see what a rewarding journey I have been on. The quilts are a beautiful way to express love when words seem inadequate. Needless to say, I feel very blessed to be able to help others. #39 Granny Boyd

The life of Granny Boyd. This is a quilt of love....her family. It starts at the top left corner when she was 15 years old and captures her life until the recent picture in the bottom left corner. The bottom right is her family a year ago. There are collages of many pictures of her husband (PaPa), 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren and their families.
Christmas 2009 Granny's comment: this is the greatest gift I have ever received.

#38 James Comfort

The photos for this quilt were so thoughtfully selected my James' daughter. Her father is currently under Hospice care and she wanted this quilt to reflect the wonderful man he has always been to their family.

Thurs., 12/23/09 Note from Karen: Dad and Mom just loved the quilt. It's so beautiful and special. Such a beautiful job I don't know how to thank you enough.

#36 Jill York

This is an extra large quilted pillow sham. It was made from tshirts Jill's mom found after she had me make a tshirt quilt (#26) for Jill. Minnie Mouse is the inside flap (her little sweatshirt) of her "envelope" style sham. It will be great for either stuffing with a pillow or blanket or momentos. Jill's mom got excited this summer about having special gifts made for her daughter. It was fun making her Christmas more meaningful.
Wed., 12/30/09 Note from Jill: I LOVED it!!! I cried it was so special!! Thank you so much!!!! Words cannot explain how much this means to me!
