Wrapped in Love Quilts are memory quilts for all occasions with Hospice patients having priority. Wrapped in Love Quilts was created after I learned a friend of mine had terminal cancer. I knew how much she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. I didn't know what to say to her when I received the news of her cancer so I came up with a way for her to wrap the love of her family around her. I created a photo quilt of all her loved ones along with her grandchildren's handprints on the back. She called it her faithful companion. Sue Liston passed away on October 31, 2007. During the year 2008 I created many quilts for hospice patients and persons that needed a little extra love wrapped around them. As you view the quilts and read the stories about them, starting with Sue's(2008-#1), you will see what a rewarding journey I have been on. The quilts are a beautiful way to express love when words seem inadequate. Needless to say, I feel very blessed to be able to help others. #3 Sissy Wallace for Brittany

Nita loved her quilt so much she asked if I could make one for her granddaughter.

The center panel is one of Sissy's t-shirts. The photos are bordered with fabric from Sissy's dresses. The top center panel is Sissy's favorite bible verse:
God loved the world so much He gave his one and only Son. Anyone that believes in him shall not die but will have eternal life. John 3:16

#2 Sissy Wallace - cont'd

This side of the quilt is made up of t-shirts Sissy collected. She loved to go on cruises. I'm not sure which side of the quilt is the front. Nita loved them both. I'm so grateful for being able to capture Sissy's personality in the quilt. Nita was so appreciative.

#1 Sissy Wallace


This quilt was made for Nita Wallace, Sissy's mother. Sissy passed away May, 2008. Sissy's cousin made her the center embroidered piece many years ago. All of the fabrics on this side of the quilt are dresses that Sissy loved to wear. The top row has Sissy's favorite bible verses, John 3:16 and Romans 12:1-2. Giving this quilt to Nita made me appreciate the gift of being able to sew. Nita loved it.
